Acura and Honda Warranty Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What warranty coverage do Honda/Acura Genuine Parts include?
Honda Genuine Parts are covered by a 12-month/12,000-mile warranty, whichever comes first, when installed on a vehicle. Warranty coverage applies to defects in material or workmanship.
What is required to start a warranty claim?
To begin a warranty claim, the original part must be returned to us first. Honda/Acura requires inspection of the part before any warranty replacement can be approved.
Can a replacement part be issued before the original part is returned?
No. Warranty replacements cannot be issued until the original part is received and inspected. This is a Honda/Acura warranty requirement and applies to all warranty claims.
What happens after the part is returned?
Once we receive the part, it will be reviewed and submitted for warranty evaluation. If the claim is approved, we will:
- Replace the part with a new Honda/Acura Genuine Part, or
- Provide the appropriate resolution based on Honda’s or Acura’s warranty determination
How long does the warranty process take?
Processing times may vary depending on the part and Honda’s or Acura’s review process. We will keep you informed throughout the claim and notify you as soon as a decision is made.
What parts are not covered under warranty?
- Warranty coverage does not apply to parts that show:
- Improper installation
- Misuse or abuse
- Physical damage
- Normal wear and tear
- Modifications or alterations
Do I need proof of purchase?
Yes. A valid invoice or receipt is required to verify eligibility for a warranty claim.
Who is responsible for labor costs?
Honda/Acura parts warranties cover the part only. Labor, diagnostic time, and related expenses are not covered unless otherwise specified by Honda or Acura.
