Honda VTEC SPOOL VALVE FILTER / GASKET FOR  HONDA CIVIC WITH THE VTEC ENGINE. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WHEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON WITH THESE CIVICS. IF YOU HAVE A VTEC CODE, TRY REPLACING THIS FIRST, THE SCREEN GETS CLOGGED AND DOESN'T ALLOW THE  SPOOL VALVE TO WORK. THIS FILTER ALSO SERVES AS THE O RING/GASKET FOR THE SPOOL VALVE . Fits 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2005 Honda Civic Models with the VTEC engine.
